Security

Generations believes that online banking should make your life easier, not put you at risk. That’s why we are fully committed to maintaining the highest level of security. We have specific initiatives in place to safeguard your information. In fact, when it comes to security, we offer more protections than most other financial institutions. Visit the Digital Defense website to learn about online security.

Our Online Security Team

Protecting yourself online is an important deterrent to others stealing your identity, and we’re committed to keeping our members safe online with the Online Security TEAM – Training, Education and Awareness for Members program. Through a partnership with Digital Defense, you have access to information that can help you protect your identity and passwords online, and ward off invasive Trojans and spyware, as well as harmful viruses and worms.

How We Protect Your Information

We restrict access to nonpublic, personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, or procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

Password Compromise

If you think your password may have been compromised or you notice any unusual activity on your Generations Federal Credit Union account, phone our eService Center at (210) 230-9381 (8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, 9 am to 1 pm, Saturday). You can also change your password online immediately using Online Banking. Keep all documents that include your account information in a secure place so that confidential information cannot be obtained by others. These documents include ATM receipts, account statements, your ATM Personal Identification Number (PIN), and your Online Banking password.

SSL Enabled Browsers: Your SSL enabled browser contains the necessary encryption algorithms to “scramble” the information that is transmitted between you and the Generations Federal Credit Union computer system. This ensures the confidentiality of the information you submit electronically. For this reason, we recommend that you use the most recent versions of Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari or Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Multi-Step Registration

Our Online Banking system requires users to register via a multi-step registration process referred to as multi-factor authentication (“MFA”). MFA represents a more secure way to protect your personal information than merely relying upon a single password. Also, your SSL-enabled browser contains the necessary encryption algorithms to “scramble” the information that is transmitted between you and the Generations computer system. This ensures the confidentiality of the information you submit electronically.
