LLS Light the Night Fundraiser
GFCU has joined the fight against cancer through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night fundraiser. Proceeds benefit research to find blood cancer cures and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
SAFD Community Safety & Education Trailer
Generations showed support for our San Antonio Fire Department earlier this year by sponsoring the Community Safety & Education team’s trailer. We appreciate all that our San Antonio Firefighters do to keep our communities safe, especially during these times. GFCU was happy to donate an equipment trailer to show our gratitude for their services and the help they provide to the city’s Metropolitan Health District.
Blue Cares SAPOA Outreach Backpack Drive
Generations joined the San Antonio Police Officers Association’s Blue Cares Community Outreach in August and September to deliver school supplies and hand sanitizer to Mead Elementary School, Sarah King Elementary School, and East Terrell Hills Elementary School. To help support Blue Cares’ Back To School initiatives, GFCU donated $10,000, and we joined other corporate partners in contributing much-needed items to students at these elementary schools.
Blood Drive
The GFCU 2020 Corporate Cup Charity Challenge Fundraising Committee hosted three blood drives with the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center, with on-site coverage on Facebook Live. We have collected over 40 units of blood, and look forward to continuing to schedule blood drives to help meet the critical need in our community this summer.
