Communities in Schools Luncheon
#GFCU attended the Communities in Schools of San Antonio luncheon last week. We had the opportunity to learn about the tremendous work they do in our community and the latest ways they are equipping students to take on and tear down the barriers that stand between them and an equitable path to education. #GFCU VP, Brent Mora, sits on the board of @CIS_SanAntonio. This organization helps provide basic needs, academic assistance, life skills and so much more to several schools in the #SanAntonio area.

SA Sports Charity Challenge Food Bank Donation
All of our branches and staff helped collect non-perishable food items for the San Antonio Food Bank. The Charity Challenge is one part of the Corporate Cup, and it’s the most meaningful to the #GFCUCares Team. Thank you to our members, partners, and staff for helping raise non-perishable items! With your help, we were able to deliver 732 pounds to our community.

SA Sports Gala
We had a memorable evening at the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame Tribute last week. They honored local sports legends and raised funds to support i play! afterschool. Our President & CEO, Ken Raymie, sits on the Board of Directors of SA Sports, and #GFCU is honored to support this organization that provides sports programs for kids and helps keep our community moving.

SAHPOO Scholarship Dinner
The San Antonio Hispanic Police Officer’s Organization awarded scholarships to deserving high school seniors last week. #GFCU is proud to support this organization and its programs.

Corporate Cup Charity Challenge
We’re ecstatic to announce that #GFCUCares raised a record-breaking $58,266.25 for the 2024 Corporate Cup Charity Challenge! These funds, thanks to the generosity of our staff, members, and community partners, will directly benefit essential local charities, helping those in need. This year’s beneficiaries are San Antonio Sports, Boys & Girls Club of San Antonio, San Antonio Food Bank, and South Texas Blood & Tissue.

SA Sports Corporate Cup Blood Drive
We rolled up our sleeves again this year on May 6th to donate blood as part of our support for the SA Sports Corporate Cup and the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center. The blood-mobile parked at our One Castle Hills headquarters location, and we were pleased to welcome team members, credit union members, and employees from other companies in One Castle Hills.

Girls on the Run 5K
GFCU was a proud sponsor of Girls on the Run Bexar County. Our team, led by Retail Delivery VP and #GOTR Board Member Danielle Smothers, was thrilled to participate in the 5K run at Mission County Park.
This amazing organization teaches essential life skills that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy.
